WHAT HAPPENED?
The 31-year-old ditched his agent this week as he continues to search for a way back into football. Lingard has been a free agent since the end of last season and has been training on his own while he awaits offers from other clubs.

WHAT LINGARD SAID
The winger took to Instagram to share an image of him on the training field and added a second picture that had the message: "My focus is different. My time is being invested in growth. I don't expect people to understand what I'm up to. Eventually, they will."

Lingard has been linked with several teams in recent months following his departure from Nottingham Forest in the summer. He spent a period training in Saudi Arabia with Steven Gerrard's Al-Ettifaq but no contract offer materialised. He has also been linked with Everton and teams in MLS recently.
